The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund was founded in October 2003 to help support surviving U.S. Military children who have lost a parent in the Afghanistan or Iraq wars by providing them with College Grants. Our program has been expanded to include spouses of our fallen as well as those whose parent or spouse has suffered a severe disability as a result of their efforts in either war and includes many disabled veterans some who may are no longer be receiving VA educational benefits.
Our College Grant Program has gone through several expansions as we realized many of our Gold Star widows and disabled veterans were ineligible or were no longer qualified for VA and government programs. To find out if you qualify, please complete our application or call us at: 888-805-7383 today.
April 30th is the deadline for College Applicants for the Fall semesters and October 31st for the Spring semesters. If you are applying for assistance, please submit all completed paperwork prior to the deadline.
Our college and financial assistance programs for new applicants have been temporarily put on hold due to a decrease in donations effective May 3, 2023. We are continuing to support our existing applicants and hope to be able to lift this hold for new applicants in the near future. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at (301) 685-3421. Thank you for your understanding.
Our organization has helped over 2000 US military children by providing more than 6,000,000,00 in educational, and financial assistance that includes, but is not limited to emergency housing, utilities, food, clothing, vehicle repairs, other lodging for families with life threatening medical needs, funeral expenses, and have provided over $420,000.00 in funds to assist two other charitable organizations so that they can continue serving our severely disabled veterans and their families. We are pleased to report that our admin/management expenses for the past twelve years have been between 0-12%. Many of our College Scholarship recipients have recurring scholarships that enable them to complete their four year programs. If you reside in Southern California and are in need of assistance, please visit the Wounded Heroes of America
If you are a Gold Star Family or a disabled/wounded veteran with dependents at home 18 or younger, please contact our office or email us with a statement concerning your reason for requesting assistance. We are handling each new applicant on a case by case basis. All children's enrichment applicants must call us to inquire into the program. Please understand that each new applicant is screened carefully and must qualify for our programs and follow our guidelines. We are not a government agency and our funding is limited so please if you are over the age of majority (18) and are a surviving or disabled/wounded veteran's child we cannot offer you financial assistance.
If you are a casualty officer, Survivors or Disabled Veterans Advocate, VA or medical coordinator email us for informational brochures and applications to share with the families.
The Children of the Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund is a non-profit organization that is not affiliated with any government agency. We are able to provide college grants and financial assistance solely due to the generosity of those who donate to the organization. Some donations are made with stipulations that they be awarded within a certain state or branch of military. Our funds are limited every application is carefully reviewed and decisions are made based on eligibility and guidelines we have in place then awards are made based on the needs of each applicant and the funds available at that time.
