God's direction and purpose for this mission is defined in scripture: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." James 1:27 (NIV) Through Family Christian Stores' Foundation, The James Fund, four employee mission teams were sent to Monterrey, Mexico in 2005 to experience hands-on opportunities of helping widows and orphans. In 2006, they sent out five mission teams comprised of employees and business partners (four to Monterrey and one to New Orleans). Seven teams are planned to be sent out in 2007. Family Christian Stores and The James Fund has partnered with the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Inc. to help us with our mission of providing educational and financial assistance to surviving and severely injured service members and their families. With 2 separate fundraisers in their stores, employees and customers raised $32,504.15 and The James Fund matched these amounts up to a total of $25,000.00 per event. Their “round up” sales allowed customers to round their purchases up to the nearest dollar  to help our military surviving families. We feel so blessed to have the support of both FCR and The James Fund as our passions in ministry are so close to our hearts. Total contributions from both Family Christian Stores and The James Fund were $85,437.23, which was presented to Becky Campbell in August during the James Fund Gala. Mark Schultz was one of the wonderful performers present and touched us all with his music and beautiful lyrics. The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Inc. is a 501 © 3 non-profit organization that was founded October 23, 2003 by Rebecca Campbell.

After the attacks on our nation her youngest son enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne out of Fort Bragg, N.C. Her nephew was already serving in the USMC and was deployed to Afghanistan as well as other close friends. In February 2003 her son was deployed to Baghdad and later that year with the help of family and friends she organized a fundraiser to help children affected by the loss of a parent. The idea was to help one or two children who had lost their parent(s) overseas during his or her deployment with college assistance. The first fundraiser was held two weeks later and was a big success! She simply cannot stop and with the help of volunteers and the support of the our partners and the public we continue with our mission of support. Her son, nephew and other close friends did come home, however, others have not and with the continual support of the public the dream to help our families in need is becoming a reality. If you or someone you know is suffering a hardship, please have them visit our website to learn how we can help. Applications can be downloaded from our website or forwarded per request.
