The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund™ was founded, October 23, 2003 to provide financial support to U.S. Military families and severely disabled service members affected by the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In support of New Jersey military families affected by OEF and OIF, realhoboken.com is sponsoring a fundraiser on October 1, 2005 to raise donations for these families.

Christina Attardo knows what is like to have a loved one serving overseas in the face of danger, her boyfriend, Brian is finishing out his second tour serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. “I know what it is like to worry and pray for and miss and love your soldier so very much. For me, this is the hardest thing I have faced in my life – so I cannot even begin to imagine what the families of fallen soldiers go through. But I do believe that the last thing in the world they should have to worry about is supporting the children left behind.”

Local restaurants, businesses, and merchants as well as the Giants, Jets, Devils and MLB have joined in the efforts by donating signed memorabilia as well as donated tickets from the Nets and the Conan O’Brien Show that will be auctioned off during the evening:
