Dear Friends and Family,

This weekend, I am going to run a 50-mile Ultra-Marathon to raise money for families of fallen soldiers.

The organization I am supporting this year is the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. It was founded in October 2003 as a means of providing College Grants and Financial Assistance to surviving children and spouses of our U.S. military service members who have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Their financial assistance program assists families of disabled service members as well.

My goal is to raise at least $2,500 for this organization. I am asking you to help me achieve this goal by donating and sending me a quick notification email so that I can track the effectiveness of my efforts. No donation is too small. Any help you can give will be deeply appreciated by me, my family, and the families of the fallen.

Many of us have lost friends and loved ones in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. As many of you know, three comrades I have known and worked with have fallen in these operations. Each has left behind a wife and two children. I am running in their honor and it is with their families in mind that I ask for your support.

The race I will participate in is the Bull Run Run 50 Miler. It is a challenging course through the rolling hills along Bull Run – site of the famous Civil War battles – in and around Manassas, VA. Rain is expected, so the course should be nice and muddy!

Your thoughts, prayers, and support are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely yours,

Tony
